C20 concrete is often used for lightweight domestic and commercial construction, as well as for projects where the ground may be unstable. Because of its lightweight nature, this mix is best used for applications such as: slab foundations — for small houses garages and extensions / patio paving / farmyard slabs (for lightweight machinery).

Product Description

Note: ready mixed concrete can be supplied and configured in a variety of ways. Your pour and delivery method are selectable above, but specific mix requests should be added to your product notes to include required boom or line length, required wait time, etc. Each method may incur additional costs, advised in the notes within your returned quote offer.

Additionally, the merchant may hold an overage of ~20% on top of the cost per m³ in case of overages or additional requirements at the point of delivery. This charge will then be refunded to you if not required.

Design mix concrete, also known as proportioned concrete, is a type of concrete where the proportions of the ingredients (cement, water, aggregates, and admixtures) are determined based on specific requirements to achieve the desired properties for a particular project. It is graded based on its compressive strength, which is a measure of the concrete's ability to withstand axial loads without crushing. The grading of design mix concrete involves categorizing it into different classes or grades, usually designated by a characteristic compressive strength value. The compressive strength is typically measured in megapascals (MPa) or pounds per square inch (psi) after curing the concrete for a specified period, commonly 28 days.

Low-Strength Grades: Suitable for non-structural applications.
C10, C15, etc. (10 MPa, 15 MPa)

Medium-Strength Grades: Used for general construction purposes, such as residential buildings.
C20, C25, etc. (20 MPa, 25 MPa)

High-Strength Grades: Used for structural components subjected to higher loads, such as beams, columns, and slabs in commercial buildings and infrastructure projects.
C30, C35, C40, etc. (30 MPa, 35 MPa, 40 MPa)

Very High-Strength Grades: Applied in specialized structures like high-rise buildings, bridges, and tunnels.
C50, C60, C70, etc. (50 MPa, 60 MPa, 70 MPa)
